It is true that you are the bride’s right hand and available to help with all her problems, but there are still some things the bride shouldn’t ask of you.
1. To change your physical appearance
The bride shouldn’t ask you to lose weight, change your hair color or length, use a tanning bed, or alter your physical appearance in any way.
2. To organize an engagement party for her
You do not have to organize an engagement party. An engagement party is the responsibility of the happy couple and their parents. The maid of honor is not obligated to organize such a party if she does not wish to, nor is she required to pay for it.
3. To pay for her bachelorette party at an expensive location.
You are the lead organizer of the bachelorette party, but that doesn’t mean you have to cover the costs if the bride insists on a trip, a luxury villa rental, or a celebration at the city’s most exclusive club. You can offer to do so if you wish, but the choice is ultimately yours.
