How to align the entire team

1. Decide on the type of bachelorette party, the location, and the theme yourself.

One person might want a bachelorette party in a villa, another in a club; one might want a “wild 70s” theme, while another prefers no theme at all—and so it goes. You are the maid of honor, and you know the bride—and what she would want—better than anyone. So, decide on the key elements upfront—the type of party, the location, and the theme—and let the other girls know what has been decided. Then, you can all work out the remaining details together.

2. Assign responsibilities

Make a list of everything that needs to be done—such as buying drinks, preparing a USB drive with songs, ordering decorations online, ordering the cake, and so on—and have each of the girls take on one of these tasks; additionally, each of you should prepare some cakes or savory treats.

3. Decide how you will agree on payment.

Define the key points right at the start—and by key points, we specifically mean the previously mentioned responsibilities and how you will handle the costs (unless the bride has decided to pay for the bachelorette party herself). It is crucial to settle the financial aspect immediately; otherwise, you might end up planning the perfect party but lacking the funds for all your ideas—or, even worse, you might pay for everything yourself, only to have the girls say later that they didn’t realize they were supposed to contribute or that it wasn’t agreed upon that way. So, sort out the finances from the very beginning.

4. Collect the money on time

You need to order some decorations online months in advance to ensure they arrive on time, and you’ll need to order or buy other items early as well. So, set a deadline for all the girls to transfer the money to your account. Don’t spend your own money and plan to collect it from the girls at the bachelorette party—you’ll likely forget, and it will be awkward to ask for it later.

To avoid getting overwhelmed by information, don’t make separate arrangements with each girl; instead, have all the details about the bachelorette party posted in a group chat.
